Evelyn Betts Thomason is a graduate of Drake University in accounting and the Washington College of Law at American University. Ms. Thomason's legal practice focuses on tax planning and estate planning with individuals and small businesses, including consultation on family wealth transfer, charitable giving techniques, life insurance trusts, revocable trusts, generation skipping transfers and planning with families to make care arrangements for disabled family members. Ms. Thomason has broad experience in the administration of estates, trusts and guardianships. She has lectured and written extensively on estate planning and legal problems of the elderly.

On the boards of several international and local foundations and numerous civic and charitable organizations, Ms. Thomason assists tax-exempt organizations to create planned giving programs, to work with their boards to develop business and marketing plans, to promote and assure the success of these programs and to provide the individual donor with the ability to implement deferred giving arrangements.
